INCONTINENCE REHABILITATION PROGRAM

                         THE MICROVAS APPROACH TO TREATMENT:

Incontinence not only affects a patient’s quality of life, it also affects dermal condition and can exacerbate wounds.  Incontinence also adds to the cost of patient care.  At MicroVas Treatment Centers of America, your patient will receive a plan of treatment drawn from the following modalities to address your patient’s incontinent condition.

Initial assessment to include analysis of:

· Posture

· Strength

· Bladder leakage

· Weight

· Functional mobility

· Sensation

All of these will be used to create and implement a customized thirty day plan of care.

Treatment, to be done three to five times a week, will include the following modalities when indicated:

· Therapeutic exercises

· Proper body mechanics training

· Patient education

· Home exercise program

· Musculo-vascular therapy as an adjunct to help re-educate pelvic floor and bladder muscles and to improve muscle strength

Your patient will receive ongoing assessments with every treatment session to evaluate his/her progress.  A formal reassessment will be performed after 30 days to evaluate patient outcomes and possible need for further therapy.

We practice a holistic approach to rehabilitation which includes assessment of patient body systems, not just the affected or injured area.  This approach coupled with cutting-edge technology and highly skilled, caring professionals, assures your patients of the finest care at MicroVas Treatment Centers of America.

The cause of Stress Incontinence is a lack of muscle tone in the pelvic floor and/or weakness of bladder muscles.

Through therapies and home education/exercise our goal is to restore the ability to manage both fecal and urinary incontinence.

Patient selection may include:

· Post childbirth

· Post pelvic surgery

· Post prostatectomy

· Post bladder surgery

· Bad posture/overweight

· Aging (elderly)
